Description: Founded in 1980, Advent House was originally established to provide transitional housing for homeless people. Advent House was the first shelter in Rhode Island. Since then, Advent House has undergone significant growth for the benefit of those we serve. During the past 23 hears Advent House Inc., has provided housing for more than 6,700 homeless Rhode Islanders. As the oldest housing program in Rhode Island, Advent House Inc., owns and operates 9 facilities, with the goal of opening an additional facility each year.
