Families In Transition of Santa Cruz Conty, Inc. (FIT) is a non-profit dedicated to working with local families to provide stable homes for their kids.
For the most part families receive some form of temporary rental assistance or transitional housing support. Money is paid directly to landlords and families are assisted in developing money management skills.
Families work on goals that will help them to maintain housing after our assistance ends.
Mission Statement: To join with other service providers in a community-wide effort to end and prevent homelessness in Santa Cruz County. Toward this end, Families In Transition works in partnership with families who are homeless with housing opportunities and by providing participants with referrals to employment, training and educational resources to assist them in becoming both self-reliant and interdependent members of the community.
