Just left today, THANK GOD. If I had to choose the most misleading, unprofessional staff, dishonest, poorly run sober living it would be HAUS. DO NOT be mislead by the nice exterior, I was The entire time I stayed there (1 month total) they were understaffed, my bathroom light was broken and they never fixed it, the food they claim is healthy is NOT healthy, and fattening. They don't buy basic things you ask for like coffee creamer and greens. The walls in the backhouse shake violently if you put any pressure on them (i was doing wall planks and fell from the terrifying flimsiness) You are expected to leave with staff every time any of your housemates need to go to an appointment...you're not allowed to stay in the house by yourself nor go for a walk. Even if you're napping they will wake you up. You're not allowed to be in your room until 5pm. Which means you're in the tiny living room or noisy kitchen doing absolutely NOTHING. They say it's structured but it is a lie. They say they offer wellness but truly all they offer is a 30 min group on Wednesdays where they talk about benefits of working out and you walk around the block once. The staff are inflexible and untrained. I had a male staff member CORNER me and yell at me during a ptsd flashback and never apologized and continued to provoke me till today, the day I left. I brought this issue to the owner and manager and they did not address it nor discipline this scary individual that made me feel unsafe to walk around the house. As I was arriving to long beach a 45 min drive I realized my meds were still in possession of staff. My friend coming to visit me in my new apartment was going to bring me my medications the following day, as I do not have a car and they are refusing to give them to her unless I come back up because they are aware I am writing a review. DO NOT GO HERE it is a terrible place and should be SHUT DOWN.
