Ran exclusively by men who were themselves once addicted to drugs and alcohol, Man Up is designed to succeed where similar programs fail. Working with each client on an individual basis, we hold their men accountable for their actions while teaching them to be self-sufficient from the very beginning. They are also fortunate enough to be well connected in the community which allows us to provide jobs and resources their clients wouldn't otherwise have access to. Finally, they closely monitor their progress through random drug testing, breathalyzers, progress reports and a number of other tools. Man-Up is located on a quiet Baltimore street about a block from Hanlon Park and the 16 Bus Line, walking distance from Mondawmin Metro and Bus Station as well as Mondawmin Mall, Shoppers Grocery Store, Target, Baltimore City Community College and Coppin State University. Their clients have Cable TV, access to Wi-Fi and common areas are video monitored. Program Phases Phase 1 Clients are admitted into a 7 day blackout period.  They are only allowed to leave the facility with a staff member or another client who is approved by their executive director.  During this period the clients individual needs are evaluated and they are kept close watch.  If client is in need of detox, they will be referred to Johns Hopkins Hospital.   Phase 2: This is a 30 day period where the clients are required to take weekly drug tests and breathalyzers.  They are required to attend 5 12-Step meetings per week and find a sponsor within in their first 7 days after blackout.  Curfew is 10 pm on weekdays and 11 pm on weekends.  Clients who are work eligible are now allowed to work and are given access to some of the many employment resources they have available to us.  Phase 2 Clients are expected to mentor Phase 1 clients and pass on to them what they have learned in their early days of recovery.    Phase 3: This is a 60 day period where clients are now granted one pre-approved overnight per 7 day period.  Clients will be subject to random urines and breathalyzers.  They are still required to attend 5 12-Step meetings per week.  Curfew in this phase is now 11 pm on weekdays and 12 pm on weekends. Phase 3 clients are expected to mentor Phase 2 Clients.   Phase 4: Phase 4 clients are given more freedoms and, while on the honor system, are expected to attend 3 - 5 meetings per week.  They are subject to random breathalyzers and urinalysis.  Phase 4 clients are allowed to take 2 overnight passes per 7 day period after completion of their 12th step with a sponsor.  Curfew remains 11:00 PM on weeknights and 12:00 PM on weekends.  In this phase clients are encouraged to start living more independently if they feel ready, but are allowed to stay as long as they like as long as they are sober, compliant and productive.  They are expected to mentor Phase 3 clients.

I am writing this and pray no one ever has to suffer the way Adrian Snead (owner) Steve Bruneau (owner) and Jesse (manager) have treated me. I offered to pay to have my very expensive belongings shipped to a new sober house and even took it a step further and suggested I pay 100's of dollars and fly back to get it. 4 days now and not one response via text or email, just pray someone else does not get ripped off like they are doing to me now.

Thank you for the community service you provide to this special group of individuals, this is sincere, I have 29 years of sobriety and if it weren't for centers such as yours, I believe I would have lost my son.
