Step 1 has been serving the men of Northern Nevada since 1993. Step 1 reaches out to men who are homeless as a result of their substance/alcohol abuse, criminal and antisocial behavior, but who have a strong motivation to change their lives for the better. Men requesting transitional housing enter the program directly from a homeless shelter, state institution, an inpatient or a residential treatment facility for substance dependence.
