At Sunset House, they are committed to helping men struggling with addiction develop the skills necessary to lead sober, productive, and serene lives. Their Program of personal responsibility and spiritual growth blends therapeutic modality with structured living and care  to address each individuals unique needs. Their goal is to safely and effectively transition their residents back into their communities, and families, with all of the tools necessary to maintain long-term, meaningful sobriety. Sunset House is a non-profit, DCF Licensed, Level IV Treatment Program for men who wish to recover from chemical dependency. Their on-site staff, consisting of management, therapists and residential managers, oversee the facility and are always available for consultation, twenty-four hours a day. All clients meet with their counselor for individual therapy sessions, at least once per week and attend three distinct group therapy sessions. Together with their Primary therapist, treatment plan goals are assigned that address issues specific to each individual. Group topics include a variety of subjects such as spirituality, nutrition, relapse prevention, family dynamics  and life skills, among many others. Clinical staff also makes it top priority to involve clients loved ones, if clinically viable, to address possible obstacles to recovery and improve family relationships.  They believe that all men can achieve lasting recovery if they are given the proper understanding, structure and, most of all support. Sunset House is the place to systematically increase personal responsibility and life skills allowing each client to choose their own destiny and flourish in a new way of life.
