My son, Ben, is 21 years old and has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction since he was 15. He has been to several rehabs including inpatient and intensive outpatient programs. We recently found out the underlying cause of his addiction, PTSD from several traumatic experiences. He is currently a resident at GateWay Foundation of Lake Villa IL. We all live in IL however we have family in South Carolina. Ben knows that he can not come back to the environment he has been in his whole life and would like to move to SC where we have extended family. We are seeking a sober living facility in Columbia SC if possible. He would be starting new, no job, no car, in need of a psychiatric physician to maintain current medications. If you have any advice or information that would help him, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
