Emergency Shelter
Their emergency housing provides homeless families with shelter, support services and case management for up to 120 days as they help them work towards independence and permanent housing.
In Northern Arizona, because other agencies provide shelter to single mothers with children or to single men and women, they focus on two-parent or single-father-with-children families.
They are the only shelter in Northern Arizona that allows fathers to stay with their families as they seek assistance.
There is no charge to clients during their stay, however, they are required to begin and maintain a savings plan while in the program.
Clients may then move into their own permanent housing or, if they still require supportive services, into their Transitional or Permanent Supportive Housing.
Transitional Housing
Their transitional housing program provides long-term shelter for 12-24 months to homeless families who are sufficiently stabilized to achieve a level of independence, but still in need of some support services.
They focus on employed or employable single- and two-parent families, a majority of whom have completed an emergency shelter program.
To prepare the homeless families for true independence, they pay rent based on a maximum of 30 percent of their income although utilities are included.
They continue contributing to their self-directed savings plans and attending weekly on-site skill-building classes, including parenting, budgeting and employment.
Note: Apartments may not have openings or may have long waiting lists. Call for complete details.
Mission Statement: Helping our community's most vulnerable with solutions that permanently improve lives.
