EWSP began because both Ms. Bell and Ms. Shepard were both in positions where they observed men and women displaced without support from family or the community. The goal of the program is to assist all individuals in transition while providing direct support. The program has assisted men and women ages 18-75 years old who were transitioning from foster care, jail, prison, homelessness, and a few who were facing homelessness but were able to become part of the EWSP family. They believe in meeting each individuals specific needs in order to help them remove all barriers that prevent them from being successful in their own home or obtaining their own home. The homes are equipped with the comforts of a family home (internet, cable, computer access, and group activities) and each person is provided individual support and encouragement from the directors. Cost is $650 per month, that includes all utilities, Bedding, towels, personal need items, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels and dry foods every month. The only thing the tenant needs to worry about is their food.
