Genesis Transitional Housing is a safe, supportive and structured sober-living community located in St. Augustine, fl. in which dually diagnosed individual's can start to rebuild their lives! Established in 2007 by a motivated and committed group of individuals, they remain eager to help those who have simply given up and feel they can no longer help themselves by providing them an environment in which to recover in a zero tolerance to non-compliance facility. It is their goal that they, along with various supporters throughout the community, help their residents during their transitions from alcoholism and/or drug addiction to create a fulfilling life and learn to live as productive members of society.   Genesis Transitional Housing provides a positive atmosphere that emphasizes personal empowerment and their staff treats each resident with love, compassion and dignity. They require each resident to attend a psychiatric outpatient program within the St. John\'s County area. This level of care, coupled with 12-step programs and daily in-house meetings help to prevent re-hospitalization and assist to eliminate \'self medicating\'.  Their team works very closely with several different local treatment centers that offer their residents outpatient psychiatric treatment for those who are psychiatrically impaired and/or dually diagnosed.  They also work closely with their resident\'s primary care physicians and various specialists within the Tri- county area to assist their resident's with their medical needs.

Recovering alcoholic with 20 years of continuous sobriety. Leaving an abusive relationship and relocating to St. Augustine or surrounding area. Needing a transitional safe place during this time. Hopefully with counseling services, AA meetings. Relapse prevention.
