Homeless Solutions, Inc. (HSI) provides solutions to difficult housing issues. With a philosophy of 'A Hand Up, not a HandOut', HSI has earned a reputation as one of the most respected housing organizations in the area. They started by gradually expanding their shelter and social services, then added transitional housing, and finally, included permanent supportive housing with the establishment of their Housing Development (HD) division in 2004. Their approach recognizes that each municipality has its own unique needs, interests, and concerns regarding homes people can afford. HD can partner with you at the beginning of the development cycle or join in at a later stage to produce housing that is attractive and cost-effective for your town. Their non-profit status reduces project costs, attracts grants and donations, and facilitates government project subsidies.

Mission Statement: To offer shelter, services, and supportive housing to homeless and low-income people. For the homeless and working poor in our community, hope begins at Homeless Solutions, Inc. As a private, non-profit organization, we have been helping those in need for over 30 years. In 2016, we provided emergency shelter and transitional housing to 365 people, including 81 children. The goal of our four shelter programs and our transitional housing program is to offer our guests the support they need to develop the skills to successfully return to independent living.

Deeply sad state of disrepair. Completely neglected facility I would give 0 stars if possible. They constantly threaten the residents, struggling impoverished, with continued homelessness if the do not allow their selves to be treated like criminals. The bathroom facilities for residents are deplorable. They have mold in the showers and on walls with missing tiles. The toilets are filthy. They have no way of knowing who showers so the constant accumulation of filth is neglect of already struggling people . They do nothing to address the well being of residents other than employing under qualified employees to manipulate already abused individuals. They threaten the residents with homelessness if they do not show up on time for their curfew. They make it known to the residents the will be sleeping outside of they do not show up on time. The location of homeless solutions is located in an area inaccessible without a car so in being without a car as many homeless are it is very dangerous to walk on that street without being hit by a speeding driver not to mention buses do not run on Sundays or after a certain time. Each one of the staff manipulates what they are actually saying with their tones. They will be telling you we are going to throw on the streets but in a way that implies they have no choice even though their expectations are unreasonable to expect from people who cannot even afford soap. The showers and walls have mold. The men’s bathroom had layers of hard urine stuck to the floor that I personally had to clean. They assign chores that the residents are not trained in doing so it is a counterproductive mess having them participate in cleaning they are too depressed to care about. They do not care for residents physical or mental health. They allow resident to wear confederate flag face masks as they share the housing with residents of color.
