Cottage Housing Inc. (CHI) creates healing residential communities where homeless people help themselvesand each otherto move from the streets to self-sustainability. Applicants commit to sobriety, self-defined personal development goals and voluntary service. Using the Resiliency Method, residents are engaged as participants rather than recipients; involved in all aspects of program operations.

Mission Statement: We develop healing communities that are solution-focused, participant-driven and strength-based, where homeless people help themselves – and each other – through their transition from the streets to self-sustainability.

Hi !!! I'm a 69 year old retired man who is looking for a clean & sober living situation. I first attended AA in 1983, and I've been continuously clean & sober since 1995, The only exception is that I've smoked weed a few times since it became legal in Jan-2019. I have a BA/MA in Psychology and I worked 30 years as a financial counselor. I am bipolar, but it has been managed quite well for years with medication. What I can offer is stability in a clean & sober living environment. I'm further down the road of recovery than most of your residents probably are, and I would be happy to lead by example by fully participating in your home, including the cleaning and cooking. It would be great to live in a place that has a 12 step meeting everyday. However, I'm looking for a long term place to live, not something temporary or transitional. I hope that you can find a place for me at your home. I get SocSec pension each month, which is guaranteed income for me (and for you). I am open to any clean & sober living situation that you have to offer me. Thanks !!!
