About Bluegrass Education and Treatment for Addiction

Bluegrass celebrates 50 years of serving individuals and families throughout 17 counties in Central Kentucky. Their system of care includes Bluegrass Comprehensive Services, which assists individuals, children, and families in the enhancement of their well-being through mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services; Bluegrass Oakwood, an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; Bluegrass Prevention, a community-based program targeting alcohol, tobacco, and drug prevention; and the Children's Review Program, a state-funded program designed to assess the needs of children in the state's care.

Note: Apartments may not have openings or may have long waiting lists. Call for complete details.

Fees: Sliding fee scale (fee is based on income and other factors)
Services: Substance abuse treatment services, Substance abuse treatment, Halfway house, Residential long-term treatment (more than 30 days)

Faith-based Transitional Housing

Many religious organizations offer transitional housing at no cost as part of their ministry services. Many also offer payment assistance for those that qualify. We list these resources.

Government Subsidized

Through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, grants are provided to sober homes and transitional housing facilities for those who cannot afford alcohol and drug treatment.

Sliding-scale fees

Many transitional housing locations provide housing on a sliding scale basis. This is generally income based support that charges based on one's ability to pay. We find and list those resources.
